Well this is the first

Well this is the first time that I have blogged in a good long while and thus I should give the general reason for it. Honestly, I really haven't been into the blogging scene for a while. I honestly miss parts of it, like being much better at keeping up with folks like the Weigers, Goseys and Bear. But I just basically get home and don't really find much time outside of taking care of Adam, keeping a marriage good, and finding a bit of time for myself. So sincere apologies that I haven't been much in the blogosphere, but no real promises that it will improve much. But for what it is worth I am here now.

Watch two pretty good flicks lately. Capote was a really good film dealing alot of complex characters that you didn't quite know if you hated or pitied them. It walked that line well and I really think that Hoffman absolutely deserved the Oscar (though personally I would have preferred Jaoquien Phoenix as Johnny Cash). Good flick, though really, really slow. Second movie was a classic, Sunset Boulevard. As in the past, I am always amazed how well some of the old movies are written and acted. They are amazingly self-aware as well which proves that introspection in film wasn't invented in the 90s (DeMille's acting as himself is FANTASTIC). Good movie with some classic quotes.

On the family front, everything is pretty good. The wife is still very much digging the stay at home mom thing and the boy continues to grow up faster than we can scarce believe. He is going to be 8 months old next week which is hard to believe. He isn't really interested in crawling and I generally think that he is going to skip it and go straight to walking. He alternates between looking absolutely like me then a hecka lot like the wife. He is fun, happy child about 90% of the time which equals a really easy baby.

The new job is pretty good. I have formally gone over to the darkside and seen how being on the business side really is the place to be. IT will always have a warm place in my heart, but in the end, IT is increasingly seen as a commodity and a tool that should always do more with less money and time. Largely when coupled with globalism (which is coming whether the US likes it or not), I see IT becoming more and more thankless profession, if it isn't already so. So I like the new job. Learning a fair amount and just trying to continue to improve my comfort with change.

LOST is great these days and just in case you saw last Wednesdays episode. Here is a screenshot of the blastdoor and what is written on it. Crazy stuff. Man that is a good show.

That is it. Not much else here. Hope everyone is as good as we are here.
