I'm thinking there needs to be some sort of grassroots group for moderates. Maybe call it the Progressive Conservative Caucus. I want to know what people think. Please shoot me an e-mail and let me know what are your thoughts. Thanks.
Update: Please also let me know how you would want to participate in said group. Thanks.
Posted by Dennis at April 23, 2004 01:16 PMDave and Ben,
I think you are right that the word "progressive" is a tad loaded. Maybe the word "independent" is better.
Posted by: Dennis at April 30, 2004 04:00 PMSuch a caucus would be outstanding. As a centrist I am frustrated by the way candidates are pulled to extremes by marginal elements of their parties. Such a caucus (and just be careful with the word "Progressives" which people think is loaded) could help pull candidates back to the middle.
Posted by: Ben at April 30, 2004 03:03 PMI agree there needs to be a movement, but do not use a word as loaded as Progressive. Traditional conservatives (who value individual rights, liberty, and human potential) will see it as a democratic party front.
just my 2 cents
Posted by: Dave at April 29, 2004 01:57 PMWe used to have "Progressive Conservatives" in Canada. Now we just have "Conservatives", which tells you everything you need to know.
