10pm CDT, 5-17-04. No Brimstone Yet.

So, today was the day that same-sex couples in Massachusetts could legally marry just like hetro couples. I've seen no floods or fires or locusts for frogs as a sign of God's wrath. What I have seen and heard are a lot of happy people who actually got married just like anyone else. I also didn't see anyone wanting to get married to their dog either.

Maybe the lack of anger from God means that God might not have a problem with this, just a few uptight people and cowardly politicos like President Bush, who reiterated his support for a federal amendment banning gay marriage. It is ironic that he would say this on the 50th Anniversary of Brown vs. Board of Education which ended "separate but equal" policies in public schools. Hopefully, 50 years from now we will look back at people like Bush and the far right and see them as the nutcases they really are.

I'm curious what defines marriage? Do you believe it is an institution of the church?

We do gotta be careful, though. God could curse us with four more years of "Five Votes" Shrub.
