If you've read my blog for sometime, then you know that I wonder why moderate and progressive Republicans are not standing up to the far right. Well, it looks like someone is. Bob Faust is challenging right-winger Congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave in Colorado's Fourth District (This is eastern Colorado and includes the cities of Fort Collins, Greenly and Estes Park). Musgrave happens to be the author of the Federal Marriage Amendment which seeks to amend the constitution in order to ban same sex marriage. Faust will go toe to toe with Musgrave on August 10th in the Republican primary. This is the main contest since it seems the Dems are not running anyone against Musgrave. If we moderate Republicans want to make the party one of the center-right again and not the far right, then the battle must start here. If you know of people who live in Eastern Colorado, let them know of this campaign. If you are interested in helping out monetarily or by volunteering, go to the website. I will try to dig up more info on this stunning campaign as time goes by.

We should not be afraid to openly challenge our right-wing incumbents. I'd like to see the day where every right-winger is at least challenged the way that Sen. Specter was in PA. Finally, it's about time those right-wing intolerants got a taste of their own medicine!!!

I wouldn't worry about that. But I would consider e-mail Faust and letting him know you support him. I did that this last night and I'm thinking of ways to help him out. I would suggest doing the same.

I posted a comment there about Faust. There hasn't been any response (except for Seashell,who seems to think that he's a Democrat - God, what has this country come to).
I'm beginning to wonder if my posting a comment there was a bad idea. All Faust needs, is Musgrave saying he's being supported by Democrats.
