"Faust for a Bargain" Weekend Results

From Bob Faust,

I want to thank everyone for your support. We raised $225. That may not seem like much, but that is about double what I had last week. I intend to get out and spread the word. As to being a liberal, moderate, right wing or left wing republican, I consider myself a moderate. I have been a republican for four generations. I support some republican issues and some democratic issues. My main focus has always been the issues. That is why I am running against Marilyn. I believe we need people who are concerned about the issues that benefit ALL Americans and do not discriminate against others. No system is perfect, but we need to try to ensure the views of ALL people are considered. Currently, I do not think our representatives are serving the people, so, I am willing to stand up and fight.
Thank you for your support and I will keep you updated as our struggle continues.
Sincerely,
Bob Faust

It's not too late to consider giving to this campaign. Please give what you can to help take back the GOP.

"The label Liberal Republican would be far more fitting."

All Americans are liberals John - we all are compasionate, tolerant and loving - according to Webster that makes us liberal.

Jesus was liberal - radical - but liberal none the less (and conservative in some ways too).

I guess that's because he was human.

The only thing I have to say about so-called "Moderate" Republicans is that they are liberals who are afraid of saying they are so.

The label Liberal Republican would be far more fitting.

"Since I was the one that suggested a blog for Bob ..."

I was simply volunteering you to help :)

Dorsano,

Since I was the one that suggested a blog for Bob, I should respond. I agree that Bob needs to get out and "press the flesh" as they say since that is the one sure way to get your name in that district. However, I also think the blog is a good idea to get his ideas accross. I also think that his campaign has a national focus because he is chalenging Musgrave who is sponsoring that dreaded Federal Marriage Amendment. I think getting his ideas out both locally through personal appearances and nationally through a blog is a way to help rally moderates nationwide and get help from some bigger bodies out there.

I'm surely not saying abandon the usual knocking doors, he needs to do that and post haste. I'm just saying that he should everything possible to get his message out.

"I intend to establish a blog this week as Dennis as been advising me to do the same thing."

The downside to investing time in an Internet blog is that much of the traffic may very well come from outside CO, CD4.

Perhaps Dennis can help out :) or possibly recruit Mark K. or Michael C. to post a couple of articles so Bob can focus on shaking the hands of everyone in the district who voted in the last primary - and then some.

William,
Here are the answers to your questions.

Deficit Spending: - Against, We need to be fiscally responsible and reduce the deficit. Last thing I want to leave my children is the deficit.

War on Terrorism: I support the war on terrorism as long as it does not violate our rights. That is our foundation as Americans.

Energy policy: I support all forms of alternative energy, including nuclear power. I would like to see this nation utilize wind farms as a means to produce energy and provide an alternative source of income for our farmers.

Electronic Voting: As long as we can ensure the accuracy of the vote.

Abortion: I am pro-choice. This is a decision to be made by the women and her doctor.

Gay Marriage: I believe people should have the right to marry the person of their choice.

Separation of C&S: Separation of C&S has always been the basis for our government.

Death Penalty: Support.

I intend to establish a blog this week as Dennis as been advising me to do the same thing.
SIncerely,
Bob

Before I support another "lost cause", I'd like some more information on your positions. Your website is a little light in the "Issues" link.

Deficit Spending:
War on Terrorism:
Energy policy:
Electronic Voting:
Abortion:
Gay Marriage:
Separation of C&S:
Death Penalty:
And anything else you would like to talk about. (You also need a blog.)

Some of these are breifly talked about, but not specifics. Others, I don't think you've covered at all. I like what I see so far, and hope you succeed if you are truely trying to bring the republican party out of it's current extremism.

Thanks in advance for any response.
