New Blog

I wanted to direct you to a new blog run by Renee, a blogger in Ohio, I know from the days I was supporting Howard Dean. It's called The Village Gate a blog for progressive Christians. However, even if you are not necessarily a progressive Christian (I'm more a moderate, shocking isn't it?) you are welcome to the site. If it's from Renee, it's bound to be stimulating even if you disagree. Rev. Sanders approves of this site.

Thanks, Dennis! I should clarify that the site was created by Rev. Allen Brill. It used to be called "The Right Christians". He has retreated into the background at this point, and I suppose my prolific postings lately might make it appear that I "run" the site, but I don't. Must give credit where credit is due.

Also, the way Allen set up the blog, which took me a while to figure out, is that when people do posts in the main blog, they select "yes" or "no" for debate. I'm sort of a "When all else fails, *then" read the instructions" kind of gal, or I would have found this page sooner:

"It has never been a primary mission of this site nor its predecessor to be a forum for debate between conservative Christians and religious progressives. There are many other locations on the web where that takes place and some of us who gather here participate in such dialogues elsewhere.

This site is primarily for religious progressives to gather, inform one another, encourage each other and mobilize for action in their communities and the nation.

We therefore request that those who would identify themselves as conservatives politically and theologically refrain from commenting here UNLESS a post is marked "Yes" in the taxonomy links just under the title. Our authors regularly write material that they want to make subject to open debate, conservatives included, so there should be no shortage of opportunities to give your input here."

It's probably time to put up another "yes" post pretty soon, as those get so much more comment!
