Iraq: Things Fall Apart

I was listening to Monday's edition of NPR's Day to Day and heard a chilling portrait of everyday life in Iraq from NPR's Ivan Watson who, until recently, reported from Baghdad. You have to wonder what fantasy-land the President must be living in.

it would appear that you are, at least potentially, incorrect. the news reports of the recent activities in Iraq would seem to indicate that we are not waiting until after the election.

the troubling thing is that the media will call whatever we do a failure. either civilians will die because our bombs arent accurate enough, civilians will die because our bullets cant hit an insurgent without risking civilians in the crowd or our own people will die because we are too cautious.

Mark my word, you have not seen anything in Iraq yet. If Bush wins, or even if Kerry wins, the military will have to go into the hotbeds to get the insurgents. why have we not done this yet, very easy, beause Bush is waiting till after the electioin, because there will be mass casulaties, and thats not good for a re-election campaign.
