There's a parable in the Bible that says that that we should deal with the log in our own eye before we take on the speck in someone else's eye.
Back in August, Illinois Senatorial Candidate and carpetbagger, Alan Keyes called gay people "selfish hedonists" and said that if he were Dick Cheney he would have told Mary Cheney, an out lesbian, to repent.
Well, it seems, and I stress, seems that Mr. Keyes has a gay daughter as well.
I don't know if this is funny or sad. Or maybe both.

Posted by: roms at September 28, 2005 08:21 AMYou know, this is pretty pathetic, the supposedly caring and tolerant left is using the poor girl as a political pawn. And yeah, it all was posted online, and while those of us who are into political blogging may realize that nothing's private, the kids that post all sorts of random personal stuff on Xanga don't always make the connection that the whole world can read it. In any case, just because you or anyone else may not like Keyes politics doesn't mean that his kids are fair game, and outing the child of a politican for political gain is a pretty low blow. (not that we even know for certain that the whole thing isn't an elaborate hoax)

Posted by: lisa at September 29, 2004 05:56 PMIt's funny for Keyes' political opponents. It's sad for his daughter.

But she has a wicked way of helping us understand what's best for our immortal souls.
Maya has excellent taste in poetry.
