Ohio Redux

One of the biggest mistakes (and there were many) that Al Gore ever did in the last presidential race was when he pulled out of Ohio shortly before the election. This was highly idiotic since no Republican president has ever won without winning Ohio and it looked like Gore was handing the keys to White House with that move. Well it seems, and I stress, seems like the President is giving up on Pennsylvania.

If this is true then, the race is pretty much over. Bush can ill afford to lose Pennsylvania. But it seems like he's willing to do that.

Just found your site. Though a Dem, I like it very much. I have a feeling moderates (R&D) have more in common than we'd like to admit.

Good catch Dennis.

It's possible that something has caused the Rove machine to sputter (perhaps Kerry's attacks) -- but I don't think so - this is strategic thinking.

2 steps forward, 1 step back

Let a Democrat take the heat for awhile.

What harm will it do really? With a GOP House and Senate? No harm actually - the President of the U.S is a lighting rod for discontent. Let a Democrat get fried.

And spend the time consolidating gains - give Republican Govenors a Democratic foil in Washington DC.
