The Party's Over...

So, it looks like the President will get another term. Of course, this all hangs on what goes on in Ohio, but it doesn't look like Kerry will pull it off there. This time, the President will get the popular vote and quite likely the electoral vote.

Many of my liberal friends are in a foul mood. That is understandable, but this is a democracy and America made a choice. We all have to accept it.

Yes, I'm sad my man didn't win. But I am happy that I voted and that democracy continues on in America.

Personally, I'm am glad that Bush won. He now has a war that is getting worse than better. Kerry would have inherited this same problem but Bush really now has this 'China Shop' issue on his hands.

Secondly, If Kerry had won and the Senate and House races remained as they are, he would have a legislature more aganist him and most of his programs would have a hard if not impossible effort to pass. Bush has a legislature that will need to be more fiscally conservative.

I think Bush will become more thoughtful in his second term, knowing that his actions will be more historical. I infer that he will become more centrist in tone but that is only a hope. I realize that he will get to change the Supreme Court during his second term but I hope that he will take this as a sign to place centrist jurists. As least that's my dream.

I actually meant to put that comment with the "howard dean was right" entry... and don't know how to move it there...

but it still stands...

God bless America...

Very insightful...

I confess I wanted Bush to win... I think he's the better man for the job... of the choices we had... but I was prepared, if Kerry won, to pray for him every day the way I pray for Bush... for wisdom and guidance and strength...

I love my country... I love my freedom... my liberty... and I wish... just wish... all the bickering and fighting between the parties would stop... it's so detrimental to the country as a whole... and it sometimes makes me ashamed in front of the world as we are...

I believe with all my heart that the entire congress should work together for the good of the country instead of deliberately hindering the good works of the other just because it is of the other... it's often very similar to that old adage about cutting off your nose to spite your face...

God bless America... our president... our congress... our future...
